The announcement of the third season was made on December 31, 2021, shortly after The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc aired on TV in Japan as a New Year’s Eve special it was also released on Crunchyroll that day. The Reminiscence Arc TV special was actually a flashback that’s based on a novel Volume 8.
