Horimiya Season 2 anime about a high school relationship between two teenagers with apparently contrasting characteristics, was a big hit when it premiered in January 2021 to rave reviews. The 13-episode anime is based on a web manga series that was initially written and illustrated by Hiroki Adachi under the name Hero and was originally released on her website from 2007 until 2011.

Daisuke Hagiwara eventually adapted the story and illustrated it as the popular manga series known as Horimiya, which is published by Monthly GFantasy and serves as the basis for the anime. Horimiya was well received by fans and critics in its first season, receiving 8.2 out of 10 on IMDb and 8.2 out of 10 on MyAnimeList . Both viewers gave Horimiya the same ratings.

The series follows the burgeoning relationship between Kyouko Hori, a prim social butterfly who does well in school but who’s also harboring a secret about herself, and Miyamura, a quiet and gloomy boy with no friends whose rough exterior hides a sweet and gentle heart. After a chance meeting early in the anime, they become friends and begin to share their secrets with one another, unlocking new sides of themselves in the process and laying the groundwork for a deeper romantic relationship.

The first season concluded in April with the pair’s graduation, so many fans of Horimiya are now wondering if there will be a second season that picks up where it left off. We’ve gathered up all the information we could find about a possible future season. Here’s everything we know so far about Horimiya Season 2.

Is Horimiya Anime Finished?

The season ends with the central couple’s graduation and a happy ending that leaves no loose ends in need of tying up. So this seems to indicate that a second season of the anime is probably unlikely. And as it stands, there has been no indication from the show’s producers that the anime will continue.

However, with 122 chapters of source material and only 13 episodes, it’s obvious that Horimiya didn’t cover everything that happened in the manga. Some of these chapters were covered via a short slideshow montage that concluded the anime, but it’s still possible that additional episodes could dig into the remaining storylines that were left untouched. Unfortunately, as of this time, there has been no indication more episodes like this are on the way. So we must wait and hope that inspiration strikes soon.

Horimiya Season 2 Possible Release Date (Coming Soon)

We already know that season 2 of Horimiya may not be renewed. However, because the show has not been formally canceled, there is still a remote chance that season 2 may be produced.

The first season debuted on January 10, 2021, and ended on April 4, 2021, after 13 episodes. Horimiya Anime Season 2 is expected as released in mid-2023.

Horimiya Season 2 Storyline

a story about a handsome and famous Kyoko and an introverted and shy Izumi, are Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura.

Despite the fact that they both graduated from the same high school, their social status and attitude are vastly different. Their school personas, on the other hand, are meticulously built to keep their true selves hidden outside of the classroom.

When Izumi is outside, he is dressed in punk-style clothing, complete with earrings and body art. Kyoko, who dresses more informally, looks after Souta.

They meet outside of school and promise to keep one other’s secrets hidden from their friends after learning them. As the story progressed, the two began to develop feelings for one another.

It was only when they fully admitted their affection for each other that they were able to go on. In the series’ final episode, the two were depicted graduating from high school.

If the show is renewed for a second season, Kyoko and Izumi’s romance will continue. The first season’s source material has already been depleted. If the anime is to continue, it will need to create a new plot
