The 2015 anime series ‘Charlotte‘ is Japanese animation. It was made by P.A.Work and Aniplex. The director was Yoshiyuki Asai, who made 13 episodes that aired in Japan from July 5-September 27 of the same year.

The series is based on a manga of the same name that was published by ASCII Media Works. When the first season of this show aired, it did so in 2016. It was created by Jun Maeda and he also wrote the script and composed some of the soundtracks for it.

The IMDb rating of the show is 7.5 stars out of 10. The MAL score of the show is 7.5 with a popularity ranking at #62, which is pretty amazing for a show without a new season. Here, we can say that anime has got nice ratings from users and it will act as a positive signal for season 2.

Charlotte Season 2 Release Date

The first season premiered on July 5, 2015, with the finale airing on September 27, 2015. Since then, there has been no official announcement regarding  Charlotte  Season 2 from P. A Works, Aniplex, or Key. The anime is yet to be renewed.

Fans can expect an update from the production house by the summer of 2023, as per speculations.

Charlotte Season 2 Characters & Cast

Yusa Kurobane – Yusa is one of the student council’s primary members who is also a pop icon. She can speak to the dead, but it has a severe downside to it. Her dead sister often possesses her, and that changes her entire appearance. 

Ayumi Otosaka – Described to be a cheerful and fun-loving person, Ayumi is a very caring person and does everything for her brother Yuu. She is also a massive fan of Yusa Nishimori, but every time she looks at Yusa, she starts spraying blood from her nose. 

Yuu Otosaka – Considered to be the main protagonist of the show, Yuu is described to be a handsome high school-going kid who can cheat on exams by using his supernatural abilities. At the beginning of the series, he is shown to be very narcissistic, who only cares about himself. 

Charlotte Storyline

The story takes place in an alternative reality, where a comet named “Charlotte” passes by the Earth once every 75 years, only appearing for a short period of time. While passing, it sprays some dust that results in pre-adolescents who develop superhuman abilities once they hit puberty.

The anime centers on the life of the protagonist, Yuu Otosaka besides other central characters Nao Tomori, Jojiro Takajo, and Yusa Nishimori. Yu possesses a unique power that grants him the ability to take over an individual’s body for five seconds.

Yuu’s ability gets exposed by Nao Tomori, who also has a unique ability to make herself invisible to a specific target. He was then forced to transfer to Hoshnioumi Academy to become a part of the student council. The academy is created in order to protect children with peculiar abilities.

The student council also consists of two more members- Jojiro Tokijo, who has the ability of superhuman speed, and Yusa Nishimori, the leader of the student council who possesses bizarre capabilities to channel spirits through a medium.

Yuu travels around the world to steal supernatural powers. He even stole the ability to time travel from his elder brother, Shunsuke, to save his little sister. After stealing everyone’s power, he loses his memories. His family and friends then try to help him recollect these memories.

Is there any Trailer Yet?

No trailer is available for the second season of the show yet since it has not been renewed for a second season. 

Sales & Merchandise

There has been a sale of more than 15,000 copies. DVD/Blu-ray discs , contribute to around 15-20% of the revenue for an anime series. This may sound un-profitable and also made many animes a failure.
